Equipment

  • 1 Baking Dish
  • 1 Fork

Ingredients

  • ½ Piece Feta Cheese block
  • 4 Pieces Eggs
  • ½ Tablespoon Oil Spray
  • ½ Tablespoon Italian Herbs

Instructions

  • Before you start, gather all the ingredients to make the process smoother. Having everything measured and within reach ensures a stress-free cooking experience. It helps you double-check that you have all the necessary items before getting started. At the same time preheat your oven to 375 Fahrenheit (190 Celsius).
  • Place the block of feta cheese right in the center of your baking pan or dish. Drizzle olive oil over the feta to give it a golden, rich texture as it bakes. This step helps the cheese soften beautifully and makes it even more flavorful.
  • Carefully crack the eggs and place them around the block of feta in the pan. Make sure to space them evenly so they cook consistently. The eggs will bake alongside the cheese, creating a rich and satisfying combination.
  • Place the pan in a preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes at 400 Fahrenheit (200 Celsius), until the feta is golden and slightly melted, and the eggs are set to your liking. Keep an eye on the eggs to make sure they don’t overcook. Soft yolks and egg whites work beautifully with this dish. The baking process melds the flavors together, making each bite irresistible.
  • Gently mash the feta and eggs together using a fork. This step combines the creamy feta with the tender eggs, creating a rich and flavorful snack. Make sure to blend them well to enjoy the perfect balance of taste in every bite.
  • Take the creamy, flavorful feta and herb egg mixture and generously spread it over a slice of your favorite bread. Once spread evenly, slice the bread into small, bite-sized pieces to create perfect snack portions or appetizers. This step makes it easy to share or enjoy a quick, satisfying treat for yourself.
  • Add a finishing touch of fresh greens to each bite. Sprinkle arugula, chive, or even fresh parsley leaves over the bread for a pop of color and added flavor. The greens bring a refreshing balance to the rich feta and eggs, making every bite even more delicious.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs bring the best flavor to the dish, so opt for fresh Italian herbs when possible.
  • Preheat Your Oven: Make sure your oven is preheated to the right temperature for even cooking.
  • Watch the Cooking Time: Monitor the eggs closely as baking time can vary based on your oven.
  • Season Generously: Don’t shy away from seasoning with salt, pepper, and herbs to improve the flavor.
  • Experiment with Cheese: While feta is great, you can try other cheeses like goat cheese or Parmesan for a different twist.
