  • Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then drain well.

  • Bake covered for 40 minutes, rest 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve.

  • Use a heavy-bottomed pot: This helps distribute heat evenly and prevents the rice from burning at the bottom. A tight-fitting lid is also important to trap steam for even cooking.
  • Let the rice rest after cooking: Once the heat is off, leave the lid on and let the rice sit for 10 minutes. This extra time helps the rice finish cooking through steam and results in fluffier grains.
  • Avoid stirring the rice while it cooks: Stirring can break the grains and make the rice sticky. Just let it simmer undisturbed until it’s done.
