Ingredients

  • 1 Piece Sweet Onion large
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Onion Crunch
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Italian Herb Mix
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter ½ tbsp sliced, ½ tbsp melted

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°Fahrenheit (190°Celsius) and grease or line a baking dish. Gather all your ingredients and measure them so everything is ready to go. Keep foil nearby to wrap the onions later.
  • Peel each onion and slice about a 1-inch opening at the top. Scoop out the center with a small spoon to create a deep well halfway down. Place ½ tablespoon of butter into each hollow for extra flavor.
  • Melt the remaining butter in a small bowl and stir in chili onion crunch, garlic, paprika, Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and evenly combined. Spoon the mixture over the onions, filling the wells and coating the outsides.
  • Wrap each onion tightly in foil and place them in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 50–60 minutes until fork-tender. For a golden, caramelized finish, unwrap and broil for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Onion Size: Pick medium to large onions for even cooking and easy stuffing. Smaller onions may cook too quickly and lose their shape.
  • Prep Carefully: Peel and core the onions gently to avoid breaking them. Keeping the onion intact ensures the filling stays inside during baking.
  • Use Foil if Needed: Cover the onions with foil for the first part of baking to retain moisture. Remove the foil near the end to let them caramelize and brown slightly.
  • Check for Doneness: Insert a knife into the onion to test softness before serving. The center should be tender but not mushy for the best texture and taste.
