Ingredients

Instructions

  • All ingredients should be on the side ready to be mixed. Have your mixing cup and electric whisk prepared as well.
  • In your mixing cup, slowly add egg and beat. Once beaten, add in the dry ingredients such as almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk, and mozzarella. Followed by almond milk and coconut oil. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Once the mixture reaches that dough-like texture, transfer it to a bowl. Cover with saran or cling wrap. Set it aside in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, take out the mixture from the fridge. This is the time that you need to shape the mixture into small balls. Spray a little bit of oil into your hands for the mixture to avoid sticking. Divide the dough into equal parts, get a small amount, and put it into your hands forming a ball. Repeat the process until everything is formed.
  • Before steaming, line your steaming tray with a parchment paper. Oil the parchment paper with your oil of choice so that the dumplings will not stick. Line the dumplings in the steamer. Steam for 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Filling: You can add a filling of your choice to have a better-tasting dumpling such as shrimp or vegetable. These fillings compliment the nutty flavor of the almond flour.
  • Cooking: Make sure that the dumplings are handled gently to prevent tearing. You can also fry almond flour dumplings but for healthier options, it is best to steam or boil.
  • Dough: Since almond flour is naturally absorbent, adjust by adding a little bit of water if it is too dry. The resting time is very important as well because this will help develop a more balanced texture and flavor.
