Make Chicken Meatball Stroganoff Using Chicken Ground Meat

One of my favorite ways to use minced chicken is in a lightened-up version of the classic chicken meatball stroganoff, a perfect dinner recipe. This dish is creamy, savory, and comforting without being too heavy.

The chicken meatballs are tender and flavorful, similar to my baked meatballs in the oven, and when you add them to a rich mushroom, light soy sauce, and green onion, you get a dish that’s just as delicious as it is easy to make.

Small Portion of Chicken Stir Fry

Stir fry is another way to use minced chicken. It’s quick, easy, and customizable based on what vegetables you have on hand. If you prefer noodles, zucchini, or spinach, they all pair perfectly with the savory flavor of minced chicken. The meat in my broccoli stir-fry with chicken recipe can be replaced with minced chicken instead of whole chicken breast.

Cheesy Chicken Patties for Solo Diners

When I want something comforting yet light, I make cheesy chicken patties. These patties are easy to prepare and bake quickly, making them a perfect dinner if you are eating solo

The cheese adds a nice creamy texture, while the breadcrumbs help hold everything together, creating a crispy patty on the outside and tender on the inside.

Detailed Directions for Making Your Own Minced Chicken Recipe

One: Get Your Chicken Ready

Choose your chicken fillets: boneless, skinless breasts for leaner ground chicken or thighs for more flavor. Cut the chicken into small pieces to make grinding easier.

Two: Feed Chicken Chunks into the Grinder

Prepare your meat grinder as per the instructions. Feed the chicken chunks into the grinder’s feeding tube one at a time, ensuring they’re not too big. This helps the grinder work properly and reduces the risk of clogging.

Three: Grind the Chicken

Turn on the grinder and start feeding the chicken into it. The meat will come out finely ground. Keep going until all the chicken is processed.

Four: Help the Grinder with a Light Push

If necessary, use the grinder’s pusher to guide the chicken into the machine. Don’t push too hard; let it flow smoothly for a nice, even grind. Be patient to avoid overwhelming the grinder.

Five: Finish and Clean the Grinder

After grinding, turn off the grinder and scrape out any remaining chicken from the parts. Use a spatula to remove any stuck meat. Don’t forget to clean the grinder well afterward to keep it in top shape.

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Use Fresh Chicken: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh chicken fillets or breasts. Fresh meat tends to have a better texture and richer taste. If you’re using a food processor or grinder, pulse the chicken to keep the texture slightly chunky for a better bite.
  • Season Well: Chicken mince can be a bit bland on its own, so don’t be afraid to season generously. Common seasonings like garlic, onion powder, thyme, and paprika can uplift the flavor of the chicken. Always taste and adjust the seasoning before cooking.
  • Chill Before Cooking: After mixing your minced chicken with seasonings, let it chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. Chilling helps the flavors meld together and makes it easier to shape your meatballs or patties without them falling apart.
